Owner/Operator and Senior Indoor Environmental Professional

 

Dan Whittaker is ESG’s owner/operator and worked alongside the founder, Craig Whittaker, for many years. Dan has over 16 years of experience at ESG leading investigations on numerous Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) projects, including government facilities in counties across North Carolina and surrounding states. Dan’s expertise includes writing protocols for remediation, water intrusion/storm damage investigations, creating occupant protection plans, and serving as an expert witness. He has presented to many professional audiences and has provided on-site training on topics related to facility maintenance and building science. 

Dan holds the top certification for indoor air quality consulting and is verified as a Council-certified Indoor Environmental Consultant (CIEC). He also is a certified instructor for the NC Board of General Contractors, a teacher at Randolph Community College, and a weather expert and on air panelist of Carolina Weather Group.

Dan has a strong interest in unusual weather conditions and photojournalism. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time outdoors, going on storm chasing adventures and taking photos, many of which have appeared in major publications. See Dan's photos at Lightexplored.com
