Indoor Air Quality Investigator/Energy Efficiency Technician

Our expert teams of certified environmental investigators and building analysts have assessed over 8,000 properties. These properties include private residences, medical and industrial parks, schools, government and military buildings, and manufacturing facilities.
The ESG Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Investigator/Energy Efficiency Technician is an integral part of the services of ESG. Duties will vary widely based on current need of the organization but will primarily focus on field operations and reporting functions.
Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Investigator/Energy Efficiency Technician
Perform assessments related to indoor environmental contaminants. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, on-site inspections, data collection, and report generation
Training and supervision of employees as needed
Establish and maintain positive relationships with strategic members of relevant industries
Code compliance testing as needed for the ESG Energy Department
Maintain company vehicles and equipment to ensure cleanliness and properly working order
Minimal overnight travel is required, less than 5%
Location varies dependent upon job site and includes existing residential homes and new construction
Education & Experience: Minimum
H.S. Diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of building science
RESNET HERS Rater Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
Education & Experience: Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in a field related to science or building construction
Specific knowledge of HVAC operations
Specific knowledge of energy efficiency systems
Specific knowledge of healthy homes
Previous experience as a service technician
IAQ certifications from IAQA, ACAC, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies
Ability to collect, analyze, and evaluate data to determine opportunities and best practices
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Competency in the use of Microsoft products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Need to be able to lift 50 lbs. and climb step ladders safely
Flexibility and an ability to adapt to an environment of continuous growth and change
Salary: $14.00 to $16.00 /hour starting
