IAQ Field Investigator

Responsibilities: conduct indoor environmental assessments of residential properties, which will include:

  • working independently to create a hypothesis of the issue(s)
  • documenting conditions at the site with photographs
  • keeping notes of findings
  • sample collection as appropriate
  • comprising reports explaining all findings as listed above
  • educating the client as to ESG’s methodology.

You will be required to climb into attics, crawl under houses, and generally move about a property in a safe and unobtrusive manner. Travel to and from job sites may require 3 hours or more in a company vehicle, therefore safe driving habits are crucial.

ESG will provide training and the opportunity for certification and accreditation.

You are also expected to represent ESG in a professional manner, including developing/maintaining a positive experience with all clients, cultivating relationships with other IAQ professionals, and participating in professional and community groups that promote healthy and safe housing.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be able to think quickly and know how to express a complex set of findings in a clear and succinct manner. Experience with building and/or environmental science preferred but not required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. PT/FT
